Mei Tai Back Carry Instructions
How to put on your Mei Tai for the back carry position:
I'd like to thank our lovely assistants Jenn and Raif for being so willing to toss and be tossed around for these pics.

Tie around your waist (or just below your bust for a higher carry) with the fabric side you DO want the world to see facing your tush.

As Jenn's face is saying here, "knots are our friend," Make sure it's nice and snug where you want baby's bum to be or it will slip lower later.

Toss that baby over your shoulder!

While baby is hanging on piggy back style, pull the seat up and the straps over your shoulders. Do not let go of baby until you have the straps nice and secure in your hands!

Cross straps in the front. You can tuck them under your armpits like a back pack, but we like this so much better...

Cross straps under baby's bum. Remember, nice and snug!

Tie it in a knot

And we've got a happy baby and mama!
Some tips for a back carry:
Never ever do this on your own unless you are totally confident. Please have someone spot you until you are your baby are used to doing this.
We will be posting pics of different ways to get baby on your back, in the meantime, email me for directions.
Speaking from personal experience, I have found the higher and tighter I tie my kiddo on my back, the better it feels for longer. You may have to tighten it after a few minutes when the dust settles at first... that's totally normal. Over time you'll figure out how to get it exactly right the first time!
Please please please make sure baby is very secure on your back before taking off and going. If you are somewhere without a mirror to check, have someone help you or use a car or store window to check your reflection.
