Front carry with a newborn

Look at the mt. It is tied like an apron and not folded over. You can fold over if you want, but I do not recommend it with a newborn. Now, look at our darling baby Hannah... awwwww!

Put your baby up against your chest, tuck her little feet in "froggy" style.

Just a second shot so you can see Hannah's leg position and the mt's position.

Bring Body of MT up over baby. Remember to keep one hand on her at all times!

The mt will probably go over your baby's head like it is with Hannah right now. That's okay, we want her head supported. But, make sure her face is turned to one side or the other and definetely don't smush her face into your chest. She needs to breathe!

Pull both straps over your shoulders. The should not cut into your neck or be hanging off your shoulders, but centered for maximum comfort.

Now cross the straps. It is important to make sure the the straps are lying flat against your back and and nice and snug.

Bring the straps to the front. Remember to keep them flat and don't twist them.

Since this is a newborn and her legs are inside the mt you MUST MUST MUST tie the straps around the middle of her back. This is important for her safety.

All done! Now you're baby is happy and you can be hands free to chase your other kids, work in the fields or eat bon bons. Woot!

Here's a side shot of Hannah in the mt. Her little head is facing to the side and she is nice and supported.

Thanks to Roni and Hannah for being willing models so soon after being born (and giving birth). Oh, and everyone, hate Roni for looking so good six days postpartum! LOL!

If your newborn fusses, walk around and bit and pat her back. Also, she might be hungry. In that case, if you are nursing, you can feed her in this position! Just lower the mt to the right level, tie the mt up again, latch her on and instant hands free nursing! Email me for more detailed instructions.

I cannot sing the praised enough of the dvd t2t (tummy to tummy) It is amazing! Buy it, you will not be sorry.

If you have any questions, let me know. And be patient with yourself at first, it takes a few tries to feel totally comfortable.
